Border Security Force (BSF) jawans from the 86 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier recently showed their dedication to the welfare of border villagers by evacuating a man suffering from chest pain to the hospital and getting him treated.

The incident occurred on the night of April 27, 2023, at around 2330 hours, in the area of Border Out Post Shikarpur. Purna Swarnakar, a 61-year-old villager of Shikarpur, suddenly experienced chest pain while sleeping at his home. When his relatives sought help from the Shikarpur Company Commander, he immediately dispatched a BSF ambulance along with a trained nursing assistant to the patient’s house.

The BSF team rushed the patient to Government Hospital in Karimpur where he received timely medical attention. Thankfully, his condition is stable and out of danger. The relatives of the patient expressed their gratitude to the BSF jawans for their prompt and life-saving assistance.

The Commanding Officer of the 86 Battalion commended the BSF jawans for their compassionate response to the civilian’s medical emergency. He highlighted that, along with safeguarding the international border, the BSF jawans also take care of people with full devotion and responsibility. They are always ready to provide assistance to anyone in need.
