Alert jawans of Border Outpost C S Khali, under Border Outpost Boltala, of 118 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier seized ten plastic bags containing fish eggs in their area of responsibility on April 30, 2023, at 0310 hrs. The smugglers were attempting to smuggle the fish eggs from India to Bangladesh, and the market value of the seized fish eggs is Rs. 1 lakh.

The jawans on duty noticed four to five smugglers moving towards the Kalindi river with plastic bags, prompting them to chase the smugglers. However, the smugglers took advantage of the darkness and fled back towards the village, leaving behind the plastic bags. During the search, the jawans recovered ten bags from the location.

The seized goods were handed over to the Customs Office, Hingalganj, for further legal action.

The Commanding Officer of 118 Battalion praised the troops of the Border Security Force for their promptness in performing their duty on the international border. He emphasized that no act of smugglers can escape the eyes of the BSF jawans, who continuously thwart their efforts despite their attempts to smuggle in different new ways.
