The troops of ICP Petrapole, 145 Battalion, under South Bengal Frontier foiled the smuggling attempt and caught three smugglers who were posing as passengers at the passenger terminal.

During the security check, the jawans seized 1.789 kg of gold ornaments from the possession of the smugglers, with an estimated value of Rs.1,07,37,349/-. The smugglers had concealed the gold ornaments in their clothes, and the HHMD machine beeped during their security check, leading to a thorough search, which resulted in the recovery of the gold.

The apprehended smugglers were identified as Sujon Khan (Male), District North 24 Parganas, Suvechha Biswas (Female), and Pampa Khan (Female), District South 24 Parganas.
