Ministry of Tourism, Government of India North Eastern Regional office Guwahati organised a Cycle Rally from Kasturba Gandhi Ashram to Deepor Beel on 4th May, 2023 in association with Natventure and Rongmon Eco-Tourism Society, Deepor Beel, as a part of Awareness campaign on Sustainable & Responsible Tourism among the people.
The event was participated by 40 Cyclist represents Travel Trade & Hospitality stakeholders, Students,Govt Officials and others .
The rally was passed through Ulubari-Garchuk-Deepor Beel.
The objective of the rally is to create greater awareness about Sustainable & Responsible Tourism among people and local host community. There will be sapling plantation in a school near Deepor Beel.
Maninder Singh, IAS Addl. Chief Secretary Tourism, Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of Assam kindly consented to flag off the rally.
Anil Oraw, Regional Director North East will accompany in flagging off with Addl. Chief Secretary and also ride to Deepor Beel.
