Indrajit Basfor and I Chandraraj Singh bagged gold medals at Pedem Sports in Mapusa, Goa, organized by the Youth Games Council of India (YGCI).
In the under 20 age group, Indrajit Basfor won gold in 1500m race and I Chandraraj Singh won gold in badminton singles.
The two won the only medal for Assam in this event. Their families expressed their joy at this national achievement. Winning gold at the national level is not common and is appreciated by all.
Indrajit is a 10th standard student of Badarpur Vidyamandir and I. Chandraraj is a former student of Vidyamandir. Their winning of such a national level gold sent a wave of joy among the school mates.
School principal said that the students of Vidya Mandir are multi-talented. An example of that is Indrajit and Chandraraj. From time to time the students of the school proudly raise the honor of Karimganj and the entire state in various competitions.
