An exciting friendly volleyball match took place on May 22, 2023, between the Border Security Force and Border Guard Bangladesh. The match was held at Border Post Darshana of 06 BGB, located in front of Border Post Gede of the 54th Battalion under the South Bengal Frontier. The commanding officers of the 54th Battalion, BSF, and 06 BGB inaugurated the match.
Representing the BSF, the commanding officer of the 54th Battalion and 24 BSF troops were present. On the BGB side, the commanding officer of 06 BGB and 26 BGB troops were in attendance.
The volleyball match commenced at 3:30 pm, attracting around 200 spectators from nearby villages who came to enjoy the thrilling contest. After a closely fought match, the BSF team emerged as the victors with a score of 2-1.
Following the match, the commanders of both forces awarded prizes to the players. During his speech, the commanding officer of the 54th Battalion expressed gratitude for the warm welcome by the BGB and for organizing the friendly match. He emphasized that the friendship between India and Bangladesh will endure forever.
In the closing address, the commanding officer of 06 BGB highlighted the longstanding cooperative relations between the BSF and the Border Guard Bangladesh. He mentioned that similar games have been organized between the two forces in the past and assured that such friendly matches will continue in the future. He further stated that these events will contribute to strengthening the relations between the border guarding forces of the two countries.
