Lt Gen RP Kalita Army Commander, Eastern Command carried out a three day visit to Manipur to assess and review the ground security situation.
He visited Kangpokpi, Matripukhri, Churachandpur,Bishnupur,Yaingangpopi and Moreh, wherein he was updated on security situation by local commanders.
Lt.Gen Kalita interacted with Hon’ble CM, Security Advisor and Senior Government Officials to discuss the ongoing situation and the measures to boost unison amongst all agencies for setting in early normalcy.
During his meetings with local stakeholders, including members from all communities and several Civil Society Organisations, Lt. Gen. Kalita urged suspension of hostilities by all sections of society.

He urged the people of Manipur to maintain tranquility and harmony and carry out constructive dialogue to ensure lasting peace in the region.
