The Border Security Force (BSF) has once again demonstrated its commitment to assisting the residents living along the country’s borders. An extraordinary event took place, involving the jawans of the 68 Battalion serving under the South Bengal Frontier.

Late in the night on May 25, 2023, at approximately 2230 hrs, 15-year-old Baisakhi Santra, a minor girl from Kulia village, fell seriously ill, with her condition rapidly deteriorating. Worried, her family rushed to the Ranghat border outpost, seeking immediate assistance.
Responding swiftly, the company commander wasted no time in dispatching a nursing assistant and a BSF ambulance to the girl’s residence. They transported her to the Bagdah Rural Hospital, where she received timely treatment. Fortunately, the patient is now out of danger.

Expressing his gratitude, the minor’s father, Swapan Santra, thanked the Border Security Force for their compassionate act, noting that the BSF always emerges as a guardian angel for the border residents, regardless of the circumstances.

The Commanding Officer of the 68 Battalion conveyed his delight and commended the exemplary efforts of the jawans. He emphasized that, in addition to their primary duty of countering border crimes, the Border Security Force stands by the side of the border residents during both times of joy and sorrow. This collective endeavor plays a crucial role in fostering a harmonious relationship between the BSF and the border residents.
