The BSF, deployed on the India-Bangladesh border, not only guards the international border but also conducts regular awareness programs to combat crimes and misconduct in the region.
In this regard, on June 14, 2023, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the 112th Battalion under South Bengal Frontier and the Child line, Tentuliya NGO organized an awareness program from 16:50 to 17:55 hours at Border Village Tarali Dakshinpara to prevent human trafficking and other crimes.
During this awareness program, the AHTU of BSF provided information to villagers on various topics such as human trafficking, child marriage, child sexual abuse, child labor, gender discrimination, and the importance of education. A total of 109 villagers and 25 NGO staff members, participated in the program.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to BSF for organizing this program and urged the jawans to continue conducting such awareness programs in the future.
The Commanding Officer of the 112th Battalion stated that these programs are organized periodically to foster better relations between the border population and the BSF. He also emphasized the importance of providing quality education to children to enable them to become responsible citizens.
