On 08 July 2023 a civilian namely Md. Hedatulla Sheik, resident of GadhMahli, Malda approached to Deputy Commandant (General) and informed that his mother namely Janara Bibi (age 95) wife of late Medatulla Sheikh got expired and her Sister is residing in Bangladesh who wants to get last glimpse of her deceased sister. If the BSF helps, then her sister and relatives can have the last glimpse of the woman.
Keeping in view the humanitarian and emotional aspect, the Deputy Commandant (General) and Company Commander of Border Outpost Mahadipur immediately contacted their counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials in this regard without any delay. Following BSF’s request, BGB also stepped forward keeping in mind the humanitarian approach. Therefore, the Border Security Forces of both the countries, keeping humanity paramount in view of mutual cooperation, made arrangements for the sister and her relatives living in Bangladesh to pay last glimpse of the deceased woman at the Zero Line near the International Border.
The relatives of the woman expressed gratitude to the BSF
After the last glimpse, all the relatives expressed their heartfelt gratitude for this initiative of the Border Security Force and said that due to the humanity of BSF jawans, we were able to get our relative’s last glimpse.
BSF always takes care of social and human values
Here, on this issue, Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier, BSF Shri Amerish Kumar Arya, DIG stated that BSF troops are performing their duties on the border day and night without blinking their eyes. BSF works on the border and always participate in joy and sorrow of the border population. BSF also take care of their religious and social values. He emphasized that the Border Security Force is against those with ill intentions, while it is always ready when it comes to humanity and human values.
