On July 20, 2023, on the basis of specific information, troops of Border Outpost Dobarpara, 05th Battalion under South Bengal Frontier seized 2,000 units of medicine on the International Border. The market value of the seized medicine is Rs. 3,72,650/-. Smugglers wanted to cross this goods from India to Bangladesh.
In fact, the jawans of Border Outpost Dobarpada received special information that smugglers have hidden a large consignment of medicines for the purpose of smuggling in the jute crop near 9 Ghat. Thereafter, on receiving the information, the jawans immediately reached the spot and conducted a thorough search of the area. During the search, the jawans recovered 1000 units of Hynidase Injection and 1000 Hynex Injection from 08 bags. During inquiry from the surrounding villagers, no one came forward to claim the said items.
The seized goods were handed over to P S Gaighata for further legal action.
A K Arya, DIG, Public Relation Officer, BSF, South Bengal Frontier informed that BSF is taking strict steps to stop smuggling along Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to this, people involved in such crimes are facing a lot of problems. The officer further stated that BSF will not allow smuggling from its territory under any circumstances.
