The BSF deployed on the India-Bangladesh Border is not only guarding the international Border but also organizes various awareness programs from time to time to curb the crimes and misdeeds happening on the border. In this connection, on 28th July, 2023 from 1230 hrs to 1430 hrs, Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Border Outpost Ghojadanga, 153 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier and ‘Kolkata Mary Ward Social Centre’ NGO conducted a massive Mashal Rally from Kaijuri Football Ground to Kaijuri Bazar on the occasion of ‘World Day Against Trafficking’.
In this rally, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of BSF informed the villagers and students on topics like human trafficking, child marriage, child abuse, child labour, gender discrimination, misuse of social media and importance of education etc. About 600 students, teachers and villagers participated in the awareness programme.
People from nearby areas expressed their gratitude to BSF for organizing this program and urged the jawans to organize such awareness programs in future also.
A K Arya, DIG, spokesperson of BSF, South Bengal Frontier stated that such programs are organized from time to time to build better relation between border population and BSF. He also stated that there is a need to give good education to the children to make them good citizens.
