Plantation is very important for the earth. Trees are the basis of life and help in maintaining the safety, balance and calmness of the earth. Plantation produces oxygen in the atmosphere, which is life saving for us. Also, trees provide natural habitat and preserve wildlife.
Planting trees changes the climate and the earth remains clean and green. It contributes significantly in saving the land and helps in facing natural calamities like flood, earthquake. At the same time, the number of wildlife necessary for life also increases by planting trees.
On August 09, 2023 from 0900 hrs to 1030 hrs, troops of Border Outpost Boltala, 118 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, in association with NGO ‘Development Research Communication & Service Centre’ planted 500 different types of fruit and shade trees on the banks of Ichhamati river under Plantation Drive-2023.
A K Arya, DIG spokesperson of BSF, South Bengal Frontier stated that planting more and more trees is an important step for human life and we all should contribute in this. He further stated that this would help in ensuring a healthy and safe future for our coming generations.
