On 11th August 2023, revering martyrs of motherland, Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign was organized by BSF Meghalaya in collaboration with civil administration at Mawdiangdiang AEC, Mawpat C&RD block, Shillong.
The campaign, with the resonating tagline “Mitti ko naman, Veero ka vandan,” is a nationwide initiative to honor the sacrifices of the brave souls who have safeguarded the nation. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Jalaj Sinha, DIG (M) FTR HQs BSF Meghalaya as a chief guest.
The program commenced with the solemn inauguration of the memorial plaque dedicated to the national braveheart, the late Captain Keishing Clifford, Maha Vir Chakra (posthumous). The event continued with the hoisting of the national flag and the united singing of the national anthem. Furthermore, the program featured the heartwarming ritual of ‘Vasudha Vandan’ and ‘Veeron ka Vandan,’ emphasizing the deep-rooted respect for the soil and the defenders of the nation.
Acknowledging the importance of environmental conservation, the campaign also included a plantation drive, symbolizing the growth and prosperity of the nation while advocating for a sustainable future. The gathering collectively undertook the ‘Panch Pran Pledge,’ vowing to contribute to the betterment of society, preservation of our environment, and the continued honor of our national heroes.
