Planting trees changes the climate and the earth remains clean and green. It contributes significantly in saving the land and helps in facing natural calamities like flood, earthquake. At the same time, the number of wildlife necessary for life also increases by planting trees.
Trees are the basis of life and help in maintaining the safety, balance and calmness of the earth. Planting trees produces oxygen in the atmosphere, which is life saving for us. Trees also provide natural habitat and preserve wildlife.
In this connection, on August 18, 2023, troops of Border Outposts Sahebkhali, Charalkhali, Boltala, C S Khali, Bankra, Gumti, Jhinga, Pargumti, Kanaikati, Shamshernagar, 118 Battalion and Headquarters Kalyani, 05 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier planted 1,500 fruit and shade trees of different types in the border areas and border posts under the Plantation Drive-2023.
A K Arya, DIG, Spokesperson, BSF, South Bengal Frontier stated that tree plantation is an important effort to protect the environment and enhancing climate change resilience. This process helps prevent climate change through planting new trees, improves air quality, provides habitat for organisms, and promotes biodiversity. Planting trees is a great way by which we can take a step towards prosperity and a healthy environment.
