Tezpur University VC interacts with former ISRO Chairperson K. Radhakrishnan

On the eve of nation’s ambitious Chandrayan-3’s momentous journey towards landing on the Moon, Tezpur University has taken special efforts to enlighten its students to focus on space exploration.

In order to promote knowledge in the field of space research and academia, Tezpur University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh recently met with noted scientist and former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairperson, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, at the esteemed Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on August 22.

During the interaction, Dr. Radhakrishnan, who was the chairman of ISRO from 2009 to 2014 and who oversaw the Chandrayaan-1 & 2, and Mars Orbiter Mission shared his insights on opportunities in space technology, research, and education.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Singh highlighted Tezpur University’s key areas of research and expertise viz. engineering, data science, and machine learning. He emphasized on the significance of nurturing young talent and encouraging students to take an active interest in space science.

Tezpur University joins the rest of the country in witnessing the historic Chandrayan-3’s Moon landing. The University has organised live streaming of the event at KBR auditorium.
