Assam Rifles organised lecture on drug abuse under ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA)’ at Choitahar village of Ukhrul Dist, Manipur on 02 Sep 2023.
In the interaction with youth and village authorities were updated on the debilitating & destructive effects of Drug abuse on the abuser as well as to the society at large .
A public pledge was taken by the villagers to eschew all psychotropic substances, fight against the abuse and to strive for nation building activities. In a similar vein with the aim to motivate youth to excel in the field of sports thereby promoting Sports Culture in border villages of Manipur, Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) conducted a friendly volleyball match between Youth of village and Assam Rifles troops at village Songdai of Churachandpur district on 01 Sep 2023. The event started with interaction with village youth followed by Volleyball match and a small refreshments session.
During the event the youths were asked about their aspirations and were motivated for a symbiotic association and progressive career. Total 28 youngsters attended the event. During interaction the youth were briefed about sports culture in India, importance of healthy and stress free life and the opportunities available in today’s environment in various sports genre. They were also motivated to follow their dream sports and bring accolades to their family, State and Country.
