N.F. Railway decided to extend the services of tri-weekly train no. 15612/15611 (Silchar – Guwahati – Silchar) Expess upto Rangiya in both directions w.e.f 04th September, 2023.
Bhubaneswar Kalita, MP (Rajya Sabha); Dilip Saikia, MP (Lok Sabha) and Bhabesh Kalita, MLA/Rangiya flagged off the train from Rangiya Railway Station on 04th September, 2023.
Senior railway officials from Headquarter and division and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. This extension will serve the purpose of passengers who travel frequently from Cachar area to lower Assam for different works. The people of Cachar area will also have the advantage of travelling to north bank of Brahmaputra via Rangiya Jn. as Rangiya Jn. act as a major interchange point for the train passengers.
Accordingly, train no. 15611 (Rangiya – Silchar) Express will depart from Rangiya at 15:45 hours on every Monday, Thursday & Saturday to reach Silchar at 04:40 hours on the next day.
In return direction, train no. 15612 (Silchar – Rangiya) Express will depart from Silchar at 22:15 hours on every Wednesday, Friday & Sunday w.e.f 06th September, 2023 to reach Rangiya at 10:30 hours on the next day.
During it’s both ways journey, the train will run via Changsari, Kamakhya, Guwahati, Chaparmukh Jn., Hojai, Lumding Jn. New Haflong, Badarpur Jn. and Katakhal stations. Consisting of 14 coaches, the train will have AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, sleeper class and second-class seating coaches for the passengers.
