On September 07, 2023, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of 08 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier organized a program in the government school of border village Pathuria to make students and rural women aware of child crime and human trafficking.
This program was organized in the area of border outpost Chauhatia, 68 Battalion. Anti Human Trafficking Unit of BSF and members of NGO Shakti Vahini informed school students and rural women about crimes like child labour, child marriage, gender discrimination, human trafficking. About 5 teachers, 30 students and 60 villagers participated in the programme.
A K Arya, DIG, Public Relation Officer, South Bengal Frontier informed that BSF organizes such programs from time to time among the border guards in collaboration with various NGOs. He also stated that through these programs school children get information about such serious crimes.
