On September 08, 2023, troops of Border Post Rangiyapota, 82 Battalion, under South Bengal Frontier, organized a football match in their area of responsibility and also distributed sports material to the youth.
The match was inaugurated by the DIG of Sector Headquarters Krishnanagar at 1715 pm. Hundreds of villagers from nearby border villages came to watch this interesting match. This match was played between Rupali Berry Club of border village Malvapada and Muslimpada Islamic team of village Rangiapota. In a tough competition, team of Rupali Berry Club won with a score of 2–0.
The winning team was awarded the trophy by the Sector Commander. After the conclusion of the match, sports material was also distributed to the players and clubs present there under the Civic Action Programme. The villagers expressed gratitude to BSF for organizing both these events.
AK Arya, DIG Public Relations Officer of BSF South Bengal Frontier stated that sports and physical exercise are very important for our health. He further stated that BSF is working day and night to maintain the security and sanctity of the border. He stated that organizing such programs establishes cordial relations between the border citizens and the BSF, which is very important for the security of the country.
