ASSAM RIFLES PROMOTES HEALTH AWARENESS AND COMMUNITY PROGRESS IN CHURACHANDPUR

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR (South), took a significant step towards community welfare by organizing a Lecture cum Seminar on Health Awareness Programme at Village Zou Khunou in Churachandpur district on 14 September 2023.

The event aimed to address critical health-related issues and offer practical remedies for the local populace, contributing to the creation of a healthier and more progressive society. It was marked by active participation from the villagers, particularly the youth, showcasing a collective commitment to improving their overall well-being.The seminar did not stop at health awareness alone; it also emphasised the importance of safeguarding the youth from anti-social activities and promoting a health-conscious lifestyle. The objective was to channelise their energy towards socially productive endeavors that contribute positively to the community. In attendance were 15 villagers who actively engaged in the informative sessions and discussions. Assam Rifles continues to demonstrate its dedication to the holistic development of the regions it serves. The Lecture cum Seminar on Health Awareness Programme is a testament to their commitment to nurturing healthier, more informed communities, fostering unity, and empowering the youth to make informed choices. On a practical wing of health awareness activity, Assam Rifles, conducted a Friendly Volleyball Match in Songdai village, Churachandpur district, Manipur on 14 Sept 2023.

The objective of the event was clear: to promote sports culture among the local youth and encourage them to channel their energy positively. Assam Rifles aimed to strengthen the bond between the community and their troops.The day began with cordial interactions between Assam Rifles personnel and the village’s young residents. It served as an opportunity for cultural exchange and mutual understanding.The highlight of the event was the volleyball match, where local youth faced off against Assam Rifles troops. The match was spirited and showcased the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Following the match, a small tea party allowed for relaxation and conversation. The youth shared their aspirations with Assam Rifles personnel, who encouraged them to pursue their dreams in sports. They were also briefed on India’s sports culture and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

In total, 24 young participants attended the event. Beyond the game itself, it was a day of inspiration and dialogue, strengthening the ties between the village and Assam Rifles. It marked a step towards a brighter future, fostering unity and nurturing the potential of Songdai’s youth.
