Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR (South), organized an enthralling Friendly Volleyball Match at Songdai Village in Churachandpur district on 17 September 2023.
The purpose behind this event was to encourage youth engagement in sports and foster a vibrant sports culture in the border villages of Manipur. The Commanding Officer of Base Songdai initiated this friendly volleyball match between the local youth of Songdai Village and Assam Rifles troops. The day commenced with an engaging interaction between the village youths and our dedicated soldiers, followed by an exhilarating volleyball match. To wrap up the event, a small tea party was hosted.
During this interaction, the youngsters shared their aspirations, and they were motivated to pursue symbiotic associations and progressive careers. The event drew the participation of a total of 20 enthusiastic young individuals. They received valuable insights into India’s sports culture, the importance of a healthy and stress-free lifestyle, and the numerous opportunities available in today’s world in various sports disciplines. Moreover, they were inspired to chase their dreams in sports and bring honor to their families, the State, and the Nation.
