The Photography Club of Assam (PCA) held its annual photography exhibition, POHOR 2023, today evening at the Gauhati Artists’ Guild.
The event was inaugurated by Noni Borpuzari, a renowned artist of Assam, and Aminul Hoque, an eminent artist. The President of the Gauhati Artists’ Guild was also present as the guest of honor.
POHOR (which means Light), the annual photography exhibition of PCA, first came into light in the same year of its foundation at Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra on World Photography Day at Guwahati.
It showcases outstanding photographs of its members from all around the world. With photography workshops, group discussions, motivational programs, etc., the exhibition turns into an annual festival of photography. In 2020, due to the pandemic situation created by COVID-19, PCA decided to add a new dimension to its annual photography exhibition by presenting another web portal, pohor.co.in, to its members for displaying their talents to the world. PCA is hopeful to continue with the journey of POHOR both in digital and print form in the near future with lots of new and exciting additions to its format. This time, 84 stunning print formats are displayed at the Gauhati Artists’ Guild, and more than 600 photographs in 6 different categories are displayed in digital form at pohor.co.in. The exhibition will end on 24th September, 2023
