Assam Rifles, under IGAR (South), organized Friendly Volleyball Match at Village Songdai, Churachandpur District & an exuberant football match at Lilong on 27-28 September 2023 in Thoubal District. Assam Rifles, operating under the aegis of IGAR (S), facilitated a Friendly Volleyball Match between the local youths of Village Songdai and Assam Rifles troops in Churachandpur District on 27 September 2023.
This event was designed to inspire youth in the realm of sports and to promote a sports culture in the border villages of Manipur. The day commenced with an engaging interaction with the village youths, followed by an exciting volleyball match and a energizing refreshment party. During the event, the young participants were encouraged to share their aspirations and were motivated to build a mutually beneficial partnership for a promising future. A total of 20 enthusiastic youngsters participated in this event. In the course of their interaction, the youth were briefed on the significance of sports culture in India and the importance of a healthy, stress-free life. They were also motivated to pursue their sports dreams and bring pride to their families, state, and country.
A football match organized by Assam Rifles at Lilong, Thoubal District was the talk of the day on 28th September 2023. With the aim to boost the bonhomie between locals and Security Forces through sportsmanship, the match was played between Assam Rifles and students of Tajweedul Quran, Manipur.
The event witnessed tremendous enthusiasm and cheering for both teams, finally culminating in the Assam Rifles team winning the match with a score of 3-1 goals in the penalty shootout.
