Assam Rifles, under IGAR(South), organized a security meeting at Larong, Chandel District on 27th September 2023 where a total of 25 villagers, including the village chiefs and secretaries from 8 villages, participated wholeheartedly.
The discussion focused on cooperation and coordination with the security forces, lauding public support for the efforts of Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and stability, steering youth towards education and societal development, maintaining patience and shunning rumours in view of the tense security situation in Manipur.The village chiefs and youth representatives appreciated Assam Rifles for providing a cocoon of peace and promised to cooperate for the betterment of their villages.
The security meeting concluded with a sumptuous lunch for the attendees.In Singhat, Churachandpur, Assam Rifles proved itself as the first responder and a friend of the locals by extended critical medical assistance to a medical emergency on 26 September 2023. Eight-year-old Lethkhuhogin, a resident of Jaulian in Singhat Subdivision sustained an injury & fractured his left hand while playing. He was immediately rushed to the Singhat unit hospital, where the Assam Rifles medical team promptly attended & administered necessary medical care. After keeping him under observation for a few hours, he was referred to the District Hospital, Churachandpur, for further treatment. This timely and compassionate action not only brought relief to the injured child but also strengthened the trust and goodwill between Assam Rifles and the local community in Singhat, Churachandpur District, Manipur.
