Vigilant Border Security Force (BSF) troops, in major incidents along the border under the South Bengal Frontier, seized 396 bottles of Phensedyl and 12.5 KG of Ganja in different incidents along the international border of India Bangladesh. when Smugglers were trying to cross these Narcotics from India to Bangladesh.
At approximately 0505 hours on 06/10/2023, Based on specific information regarding the smuggling of phensedyl bottles, Alert troops of Border Outpost Dobarpara, 05 Bn BSF observed the suspicious movement of 02 miscreants carrying gunny bags. Troops immediately challenged and rushed towards them. The miscreants left the gunny bags and managed to escape by taking advantage of darkness and thick vegetation. Troops thoroughly searched the surrounding area and recovered 02 gunny bags containing 250 bottles of Phensedyl. Troops seized the bottles immediately
In other incidents on the same day, troops of Border Outpost Matiyari, 32 Battalion BSF Seized 96 phensedyl and 4.2 KG Ganja, Border Outpost Meghna, ADHOC IX SB, Seized 50 bottles of Phensedyl , BOP- Khalsi, 102 BN BSF & BOP- Sutiya, 107 BN, BSF Seized 08 kg ganja from their area of responsibility.
The seized items have been handed over to the concerned agencies for further legal action.
A K Arya, DIG, Public Relations Officer, BSF, South Bengal Frontier, expressed happiness over this success of the troops. He stated that this is only a reflection of the vigilance displayed by the BSF troops on duty. He stated in strong words that BSF jawans will not allow smuggling or any other kind of crime to take place on the border under any circumstances. He further added that our intelligence department is locating the people involved in this smuggling.
