The IAF commenced its humanitarian aid & disaster relief operations from AFS Bagdogra for the flood victims of Sikkim on the Air Force Day. Garud commandos, communication equipments, fuel, medicines, search & rescue eqpt are being carried by the Chinook & MI 17 V5 heading to the State. With EAC coordinating the HADR Op the IAF is fully geared-up to reach out to the victims of the disaster. The helicopters are kept ready to transport the stranded tourists & local residents to safer locations, as soon as the weather conditions improves.
