Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) joined hands with locals in restoring the road link joining the villages Gothal – Songdo – P Geljang – T Chanavagpahi – Mongjang – Phoulijang – Molhoi, which was rendered unusable due to heavy rains. This road was a vital sustainability link for around ten villages. This initiative by the Assam Rifles in providing necessary assistance to the villagers to restore the road connectivity has enabled movement of essential supplies and was appreciated by around 5000 villagers of nearby villages who were also a part of this initiative.
The initiative by the Assam Rifles displayed that whenever and wherever required Assam Rifles will always be standing beside the people of North East, in line with their motto “Sentinels of North East”.
