On 25th October 2023, a civilian Bakul Mia, an Ex-member of the border Village Chakmilepur (Dist-Malda) approached the Company Commander Border OutPost-Sasani, 70 Battalion, BSF Under South Bengal Frontier and informed that his father Manzoor Sheikh(age 70 years) S/O Sher Mohammad, Village- Chakmailpur, PS -Kaliachak, Malda was expired and the deceased person’s relatives residing in the border village at Bangladesh want to last glimpse of the dead body of his father for last time at Zero line of the international border. If BSF helps, then the relatives can have the last glimpse of the man.
Keeping in view the humanitarian and emotional aspects, the company commander of Border OutPost- Sasani, 70 Battalion, BSF immediately contacted his counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officials in this regard without any delay. Following BSF’s request, BGB also stepped forward keeping in mind the humanitarian approach. Therefore, the Border Security Forces of both countries, keeping humanity paramount in view of mutual cooperation, made arrangements for the deceased person’s relatives living in Bangladesh to pay the last glimpse of the deceased man at the Zero Line near the International Border.
The relatives of the Deceased man expressed gratitude to the BSF
After the last glimpse, all the relatives expressed their heartfelt gratitude for this initiative of the Border Security Force and said that due to the humanity gesture of BSF jawans, we were able to get our relative’s last glimpse.
A.K Arya, DIG, Public Relations Officer, South Bengal Frontier, BSF stated that BSF troops are deployed on the border day and night without blinking an eye along with the security of the country, including every happiness and sorrow of the border residents. They also take care of the religious and social values of the border peoples. He emphasized that the Border Security Force is against those with ill intentions, while it is always ready when it comes to humanity and human values.
