Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) observed the National Unity Day on the 31st October, 2023 in commemoration of 148th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel– the Iron Man of India.
As part of the commemoration Unity Pledge was undertaken at each Sector and Battalion Headquarter locations under IGAR (South) and the immense contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to the Independence Struggle and Unification of the Nation recollected.
In addition Run for Unity was conducted at Mantripukhri, Keithelmanbi and Ukhrul Garrisons on 31 Oct 2023, which saw an enthusiastic participation by 1480 participants including Assam Rifles personnel, ladies, children and voluntary locals.
