Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), Tezpur (Assam), a premier national laboratory of the life sciences cluster of DRDO under Ministry of Defence, is organizing 4th DRDO-Kisan-Jawan-Vigyan Mela on 05 Nov, 2023 at DRL R&D Centre at Changbu, Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. This event is part of the efforts of the DRL-DRDO to promote agricultural and scientific advancements among the people especially farmers in border areas in addition to Armed Forces personnel.
The primary objective of this annual Mela is to provide a platform for interaction and collaboration among local farmers, Armed Forces, and the scientific community for better civil-military fusion. Furthermore, it aims to foster a spirit of science education among school students, promoting curiosity and innovation among the younger generation.
Kanki Darang, Deputy Commissioner of Tawang district, Director of ICAR-CITH, Srinagar, senior officers of Armed Forces and the Head of Agriculture & Allied departments of Tawang district will grace the occasion. These invitees and subject specialist will contribute their expertise and insights to the event.
Mela is set to feature a variety of significant activities including kisan gosthi, competition of farm produce, flower show cum competition, Self Help Group products sale cum competition, science exhibition, science quiz and science model competition for school students.
