Assam Rifles distributed Carpentry tools at Gaidimjang for establishment of Vocational Training Centres at villages of Khoupum Valley, Noney District, Manipur.
The aim of distriblution of Carpentry essentials is to impart training and generate opportunities for the youth in the field of carpentry, making them self sufficient by generating a stable source of income.
Considering the vital need of the villagers in general and the carpenters in specific, various carpentry tools like Electric Router, Marble cutter, Electric Planer, Angle Grinder etc have been distributed to the Carpenter tutors who will be In charge of vocational training centres.
A strength of 43 citizens of Khoupum valley comprising of Chairman Khoupum Area Village Authority Council (KAVAC), Village authorities, Carpenter tutors and youths attended the event.
Assam Rifles encouraged the youth and explained how these small steps can improve the condition of living and bring them at par with the other areas of the state. The Carpentry essentials will generate a stable income and prove helpful to their families, assisting in raising their standards of living.
At the end of the event, the Chairman of Khoupum area village authority council, Village authorities, tutors and youths expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles for fulfilling the requirement of the locals of Khoupum Valley. They also applauded the efforts being taken by Assam Rifles in promoting skill development and empowering youth towards the mainstream.
