Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) reached out to the needy people at village Gelbung and village T Cannan, Sangaikot Sub-Division, Churachandpur District, Manipur on 1st December 2023.
The outreach program was conducted with an aim to help and assist the local populace with blankets, toiletries and other essentials during this time of need, wherein the large section of the locals have been facing displacement and job loss resulting in financial hardships. Also, due to the limited water supply, there is scanty water supply to the farms and fields consequently affecting the livelihood of locals.
This gesture of Assam Rifles stands by the motto of ‘Sentinels of North East’ and Assam Rifles has always been a forerunner in extending help and assistance to local people.
