Assam Rifles is organising a National Integration Tour to New Delhi for students of Indigenous Women and Children Foundation, an orphanage at Tamenglong district, Manipur, for which flagging off was conducted at Tamenglong on 3rd December 2023.
The Commandant of Tamenglong Battalion interacted with the children and flagged off the tour. The event was also attended by caretakers of the foundation, teachers, guardians and Civil Society Organisations, all of whom appreciated the Assam Rifles for this commendable initiative.
The tour is being organised so that the children from Tamenglong can experience the cultural diversity and technological developments of the national capital city. 23 students, accompanied by two teachers and six Assam Rifles personnel including one officer, are participating in the tour. It aims at providing a unique exposure to experience a different cultures and also visit famous tourist attractions in and around New Delhi. During the tour, the participants will have a close interaction with leaders of the country and the armed forces.
While the tour would go a long way in introducing the students to the cultural and developmental vibrancy of the capital region, it also aims to initiate a zeal in the children to help them succeed in their lives and work towards advancing their communities.
