Assam Rifles organized a friendly inter-village football tournament as part of its ongoing community engagement initiatives in Chongjang, Tengnoupal district. The tournament showcased the talents of four teams from various villages, with a total of 44 enthusiastic youths participating.
Throughout the event, players demonstrated exceptional skills, enthusiasm, and unwavering sportsmanship, creating a positive atmosphere that resonated with both villagers and children in attendance.
The tournament, an integral component of the pin management program at Chongjang, concluded with the distribution of prizes to the winning and runner-up teams. The ceremony was followed by a delightful refreshments session, fostering camaraderie and community spirit.
Approximately 150 villagers, including village chiefs, witnessed the tournament, contributing to a memorable day that celebrated both athletic prowess and community unity.
Furthermore on 14 Dec 23 Friendly Volleyball Matches were conducted between a team of Assam Rifles and youth of village T Khongkhai and Govajang Village, Churachandpur district and also at Songdoi of Churachandpur district with the youth of village. The matches were organised with the aim to motivate local youth to refrain from involvement in the current communal violence in the Manipur State and promote sports culture in border villages of Manipur State.
