The BRAHMASTRA SAPPERS under aegis of Brahmastra Corps undertook a Cycling Expedition from Panagarh Military Station to Hilli and back . The expedition was flagged off from Panagarh on 16th December on VIJAY DIWAS by Corps Commander, Brahamashtra Corps and Major General Ajay Chautervedi (Retired).
The Expedition Team lead by Captain Preet Singh and 10 other cyclists would accomplish the daunting task of covering 740 km in seven days, from Panagarh to Hilli and back. The Team peddled across the landscapes of West Bengal immersing the bucolic settings and reached Hilli after blazing a trail of living a life less ordinary. The Expedition was Flagged In at Hilli Memorial with fanfare and cheering from the Veterans, students and locals present for Hilli Day Celebrations.They commemorated the Heroes of Hilli with wreath laying and nostalgic visit of the Border Out Post and Integrated Check Point as an ode and entrenched lifelong memories in their hearts.
The broader aim of the expedition was to bolster the energy of the youth of the Nation towards nationalism as the team interacted with school and college children at various stages enroute.
They acted as a beacon to channelise the immeasurable enthusiasm and zeal of the future leaders of the country. The team during the course of expedition interacted with local youth and NCC cadets at Siksha Niketan Ashram, Bolpur, Umarpur, Patiram , Hilli and Malda.
