On 30th December  Vigilant Troops of Border Outpost Gojadanga, 112 Battalion, BSF under South Bengal Frontier, acting based on concrete information, arrested a smuggler with illegal 4000 US dollars near the International Border of District North 24 Parganas (West Bengal). when the smuggler was trying to take all this money illegally from India to Bangladesh through the Land Customs Station, Gojhadanga. The value of the American dollar in Indian currency is Rs 3,32,600/-.

According to the information, Jawan of LCS, Ghojadanga, 102 Battalion, BSF keeping an eye on the area during a special operation in the suspected area on December 29. As soon as the movement of the suspicious person was noticed around, jawans stopped the person for a search. During the search, 4000 US dollars and 37,835 Indian rupees were recovered from him. During interrogation, this person did not give any information regarding the recovered money. When he could not produce the proper documents, jawans took him into custody along with the money.

The arrested smuggler has been identified as Rajesh Kumar (aged 49), District North 24 Parganas, West Bengal.

During interrogation, Rajesh Kumar revealed that he is an Indian citizen and has been working as a carrier of goods and money for the last few days. Although he used to do this work from ICP Petrapole, due to the security check being very strict at Petrapole, he planned to smuggle from Gojadanga, but during the security check at Gojadanga, the jawans took him into custody with this money.

The seized US dollars and Indian currency have been handed over to the Customs Office, Gojadanga for further legal action.

The Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier expressed happiness over the success of the soldiers and said that it is a reflection of the vigilance shown by the Border Security Force personnel deployed on duty. He has urged people not to adopt the path of smuggling under any circumstances. He said in strong words that Border Security Force personnel will not allow smuggling or any other type of crime to take place on the border under any circumstances and will not spare those involved in it.
