ASSAM RIFLES FOSTERS COMMUNITY UNITY THROUGH FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCHES

Volleyball matches that brought together seven villages: Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), organized a series of friendly volleyball matches that brought together seven villages on 03 January 2024. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Kovang, Wyang, Tuitong, Moljol, Galmol, Gamnom, and M Bijangphai, with approximately 115 villagers showcasing their athletic prowess.

The matches, played with fervor and sportsmanship, not only provided a platform for friendly competition but also served as a medium to strengthen the bonds among the villagers. The vibrant atmosphere echoed with cheers and applause as the teams showcased their skills, creating a memorable experience for everyone involved.

The culmination of the event was marked by a grand prize distribution ceremony, where participants were honoured for their exceptional performance and sportsmanship. Following the thrilling matches and prize distribution, a communal lunch was arranged for all the villagers, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared joy. The gathering allowed villagers from different communities to come together, exchange stories, and build lasting connections beyond the volleyball court.

Assam Rifles looks forward to organizing more such events that not only promote physical well-being but also strengthen the social fabric of the region.

Friendly Volleyball Match at Chandel District: In another such event, Assam Rifles organized a friendly volleyball match at Bongmol Village, Chandel District, and Kwatha Village, Tengnoupal District, on 02 January 2024. The event witnessed the spirited participation of 95 villagers, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

This initiative aimed to deepen relationships, promoting unity and mutual understanding. The volleyball matches served as a platform for shared joy and healthy competition, embodying Assam Rifles’ dedication to community engagement and development. Recognizing the role of sports as a catalyst for understanding and brotherhood, Assam Rifles jawans engaged with local youth, further emphasizing their commitment to harmonious coexistence and holistic community development.
