ASSAM RIFLES DEMONSTRATES COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY WELFARE THROUGH VARIOUS INITIATIVES

In a series of initiatives, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), showcased its commitment to community welfare and engagement. The events held on January 3rd and 4th, 2024, aimed at fostering positive relationships and addressing the needs of the local populace.

Supporting Citizen’s Club Moirang’s Foundation Day:

Assam Rifles actively participated in organizing a “One Day Exhibition Match” and donated sports items to Citizen’s Club Moirang, Bishnupur District, in celebration of the club’s 60th foundation day. The exhibition match, involving Assam Rifles, Citizen’s Club, and the Indian Army, aimed to encourage local youth’s participation in sports. The donation of sports items, facilitated by the company commander, aimed to boost engagement among the youth and children, fostering their involvement in the state’s sporting community. The Superintendent of Police, Shri Meghachandra, graced the occasion, motivating the youth to actively engage in sports and games.

Interactive Session with T Nampao Village, Chandel District:

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), conducted a friendly interaction with locals and Village Authorities of T Nampao Village, Chandel District, on January 4, 2024. The informal interaction aimed to address concerns, promote cooperation, and strengthen community ties. Approximately 200-220 individuals from the village actively participated, sharing their experiences and expressing their commitment to supporting efforts for peace and stability in Manipur.

Security Meet at S Whole Village, Churachandpur District:

Recognizing the significance of maintaining peace and security along NH 2 connecting Manipur with Mizoram, Assam Rifles organized a Security Meet at S Khollen Village, Churachandpur District, on January 4, 2024. The meeting, attended by 12 village Chiefs, focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination with security forces. Villagers shared their experiences, views, and challenges, expressing their commitment to supporting Assam Rifles in maintaining peace in the area.
