ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTES 37 SEWING MACHINES IN KAMJONG AND SPORTS ITEMS AT CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT

On 11th January , Assam Rifles distributed thirty sewing machines to the women of village Chakama in Kamjong district of Manipur as part of Project Chakama- Women Empowerment Initiative under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme.

The initiative was part of various women empowerment projects being carried out by Assam Rifles in Manipur State to uplift living standards of women by providing ways and means to earn livelihood.

A Tankhul Folk Dance performance was conducted during the event to celebrate the warm association between the Village Authorities and the Assam Rifles.

At Singhat Sub- Division, Churachandpur district Assam Rifles organised distribution of sports items under Op Sadbhavana Project on 11 Jan 2024. The aim of this initiative is to promote sports culture in the border villages of Manipur while motivating and aiding the youth and children with basic requirement of sports items.

The subject initiative was taken after assessing the requirement for youth and students in border areas. This initiative will not only instill confidence among the students but will motivate them to pursue career in sports field. This programme also aims in achieving the goal of promoting Fit India, where the youth are encouraged to be actively involved in sports activities. A total of 171 young and energetic youth benefitted from this project. The youth and village authorities acknowledged efforts of Assam Rifles, ‘The True Friends of the North East people’.
