In a resounding testament to the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment towards its veterans and their families, Trishakti Corps conducted number of outreach activities including a poignant Ex-Servicemen Rally at Rhenock, East Sikkim on Armed Forces Veterans Day.

The Armed Forces Veterans’ Day is celebrated on 14th January every year, as on this day in 1953, the First Indian Commander-in-Chief of Indian Army Field Marshal KM Cariappa, who led the Indian forces to victory in the 1947 war, formally retired from the Service. The day is dedicated to the esteemed veterans of the country. The Veterans’ Day is being commemorated since 2017 to reaffirm the camaraderie between the retired, the serving and the nation and remember and honour the heroes who made the supreme sacrifice and selflessly served the nation

The rally at Rhenok drew more than 400 ex-servicemen and their dependents making it a grand success. The rally served as a heartfelt expression of gratitude to Veer Naris, Veer Matas and Veterans for their dedicated and selfless contribution to the Nation. The rally provided a unified platform for veterans and their families to engage with both military and civil agencies, fostering dialogue and resolving longstanding issues. Additionally, a dedicated medical complex tended essential healthcare support to those in need.

The initiative stands as a testament to the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to recognising and paying tribute to veterans, fallen heroes and their families for their steadfast loyalty and selfless service rendered in service of the nation and the Indian Army.
