The Indian Army, in collaboration with a civilian medical team and with the sponsorship of Carl Zeiss, executed a healthcare initiative through a free eye camp in Dirang. It was the first-ever specialized eye care camp for residents of Dirang circle. The event was graced by Phurpa Tsering, MLA, Dirang who acknowledged and applauded the Army’s commitment to the people.
Team of doctors from India Army and the state government led by chief medical officer of Dirang, conducted thorough examinations for more than 800 locals, addressing refractive eye errors, cataracts, and providing immediate on-site treatments. Follow-up actions, including the distribution of numbered spectacles to the residents of Dirang, are currently in progress.
The villagers expressed gratitude for the noble gesture of the Indian Army and its commitment to the overall development of the region. Special thanks were extended to Carl Zeiss for their collaborative efforts in contributing to the nation’s well-being through such Nobel initiatives.
