BSF SEIZES NARCOTICS ALONG INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

On February 01, 2024, jawans of Border Outpost DMC 149 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, acting on the basis of intelligence, seized 1.4 Kg of Narcotics (Heroine). This drug smugglers were trying to cross over from India to Bangladesh.

Indeed, at about 0615 am, the jawans on duty sensed some suspicious movement in their area of ​​responsibility and saw some smugglers moving towards the International Border with bags in their hands. The jawans warned the smugglers, the smugglers got scared hearing the voice of the jawans and ran away leaving the bag there. When the jawans reached the spot and searched the bag,1.4 Kg of brown suspicious powder (heroin) was recovered in two bags. Sources revealed that it is used like heroine.

The seized narcotics substance has been handed over to Police Station Lalgola for further action.

A K Arya, DIG, spokesperson of BSF South Bengal Frontier expressed happiness over the success of the jawans. He stated that all possible routes of smuggling have been kept under strict vigil to prevent smugglers from carrying out their nefarious designs. Due to which people involved in crimes like smuggling are continuously being caught.
