The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N. F. Railway successfully rescued 06 minors and two ladies during ongoing checking & drives conducted from 06th to 08th February, 2024 at different trains and railway stations over N. F. Railway. During the month of January, 2024, RPF of NFR rescued 41 minor boys & girls and 06 ladies with the arrest of 02 human traffickers. The rescued children/ women were handed over to respective Child Line/NGOs, parents & GRP.
In a recent incident of 07th February, 2024, RPF staff of Rangapara North Railway station, rescued two runaway minors along with a lady from Rangapara North Railway station. On the same day, RPF staff of New Coochbehar station, rescued one runaway minor girl from New Coochbehar station. All the rescued minors along with the lady were handed over to GRP/Rangapara North and an NGO of Coochbehar for their safe custody.
In incidents on 06th February, 2024, RPF team of Alipurduar Jn., New Bongaigaon & Dharmanagar railway station conducted checks at the respective railway stations. During the check they rescued 03 minors, one each from the respective railway stations. Later, the rescued minors were handed over to Childline and parents for safe custody.
On 08th February, 2024, RPF of Chaparmukh Railway station rescued one runaway lady from Chaparmukh Railway station. RPF team of ‘Meri Saheli’ of N. F. Railway provides assistance to the women passengers travelling alone in trains.
Preventive measures are being taken to take action in case children in need of care and protection are found in trains and railway premises. RPF carries on a relentless fight against criminals in protecting railway passengers, remains vigilant for suspected persons involved in human trafficking as well as the movement of children in a suspicious manner, travelling alone, without proper guardian etc.
