In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Assam Rifles recovered Methamphetamine tablets (weighing – 11.397 Kgs) and 218 grams of heroin no 4 worth Rupees 35 crores in general area Dungtlang, Champhai district on 21 February 2024.
The operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles and Champhai Police based on specific information. The entire consignment of Methamphetamine tablets and Heroin No 4 with approx cost Rupees 35,19,10,000/- (Rupees Thirty Five Crore Nineteen Lakh Ten Thousand only) and recovered consignment has been handed over to Champhai police station for further legal proceedings.
Ongoing smuggling of contraband items is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram and India.
