ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES RAIN SHEDS FOR PASSENGER SAFETY: OPERATION SADBHAVNA IN SHAIBOL, LAMLONG, AND LAIBI VILLAGES, TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT
Rain sheds play a vital role in providing essential shelter to passengers, particularly during adverse weather conditions, ensuring their safety and comfort during travel. In areas prone to inclement weather, such as Shaibol, Lamlong, and Laibi Villages in Tengnoupal District, the absence of adequate rain sheds posed a significant challenge for commuters.
Recognizing the pressing need for shelter infrastructure, Assam Rifles took proactive steps under Operation Sadbhavna on 21 Feb 24 to address this issue. By providing construction materials for the development of rain sheds in these villages, the security force aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by passengers during their travels. These efforts not only enhance the safety and well-being of commuters but also contribute to the overall improvement of infrastructure in conflict-affected areas.
ASSAM RIFLES DISTRIBUTES WATER STORAGE TANKS AT VILLAGE NONGREN, IMPHAL EAST UNDER ASSAM RIFLES CIVIC ACTION PROGRAMME
In Village Nongren, Imphal East, Manipur, the pressing need for adequate water storage facilities has long been a concern for the local populace. With limited access to clean water and insufficient storage capacity, villagers have faced challenges in meeting their daily water requirements. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, village authorities and community members highlighted the urgent need for assistance in addressing the water deficiency and storage issues.
On 23rd February 2024, in response to these concerns, Assam Rifles took proactive measures to alleviate the water shortage by distributing eight water storage tanks, each with a capacity of 2000 litres Under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme. This initiative, driven by a thorough assessment of the requirements of the local populace, aims to provide a sustainable solution to the ongoing water crisis in the area. Access to clean and sufficient water is essential for maintaining health and hygiene standards, ultimately leading to disease-free villages and improved living conditions.

In the districts of Imphal East and Ukhrul in Manipur, the local communities in villages such as Nongada, Chana, and Muirei have long grappled with limited access to sports equipment, hindering the promotion of physical activity and community engagement. Recognizing the importance of sports in fostering holistic development and well-being, village authorities and youth club members emphasized the pressing need for assistance in acquiring essential sports items.
In response to these concerns, Assam Rifles initiated a distribution drive under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Program. On 23 Feb 2024, a variety of sports items, including volleyballs, footballs, football shoes, gloves, badminton rackets, shuttlecocks, and other indoor sports equipment, were provided to the villages. This proactive measure aims to alleviate the shortage of sports equipment and promote active lifestyles among community members. By enhancing access to sports facilities, the distribution of these items not only encourages physical activity but also fosters community engagement and social cohesion.
