The Border Security Force (BSF), South Bengal Frontier, organized a free medical camp in the border region of Malda dist of West Bengal as part of the civic action program. The camp held on 27 February at the Harinathpur Border Outpost, 159 Battalion, BSF under the jurisdiction of South Bengal Frontier provided medical assistance and free medicines distributed to approximately 510 villagers residing in the surrounding border villages of Malda district.
The inauguration of the medical camp was officiated by the DIG, SHQ, Malda alongside other dignitaries including the Commandant of the 159 Battalion, the Chief Medical Officer, local authorities, esteemed citizens, and media personnel. The event witnessed active participation from BSF seema bhawanis and jawans’ spouses as part of the BWWA program.
The residents, village heads, and other prominent citizens expressed their gratitude towards the Border Security Force for providing medical facilities and distributing free medication in the border area. They acknowledged the BSF’s efforts in enhancing healthcare accessibility and ensuring the well-being of the border communities.
AK Arya, DIG, PRO, South Bengal Frontier said that the free medical camp not only served as a testament to the BSF’s dedication to serving the community but also strengthened the bond between the security forces and the local populace. Such endeavors underscore the BSF’s holistic approach towards fulfilling its duties beyond conventional security measures. He emphasized that such initiatives contribute to fostering a positive image of the BSF while instilling a sense of security among the populace.
