*ASSAM RIFLES AND POLICE DEPARTMENT, ZOKHAWTHAR RECOVERED HEROIN NO 4
In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities Assam Rifles, recovered 95 grams of Heroine No 4 worth Rupees 66.50 Lakh in general area Zokhawthar and 155 grams of Heroin No 4 and 10 cases of foreign origin Beer worth Rupees 1.08 Crore in general area New Hruikawn, Zokhawthar and apprehended a total of four individuals on 01 Mar 2023 in two seperate operations.
The operations were carried out by combined team of Assam Rifles with Police Department Zokhawthar based on specific information. The entire consignment of Heroin No 4 and Foreign origin beer worth Rupees 1.75 crore and four apprehended individuals have been handed over to Police Department Zokhawthar for further legal proceedings.
Ongoing smuggling of drugs items is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram and India. Assam Rifles, rightly christened as the ‘Sentinels of Northeast’ have continued their efforts against illegal smuggling and has also doubled its efforts to nab the kingpins of the smuggling in Mizoram.
