ASSAM RIFLES FACILITATES CAREER GUIDANCE LECTURE IN H MONGJANG VILLAGE, MOREH, TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT

A career guidance lecture at H Mongjang village, Moreh,Tengnoupal District aimed at empowering the youth was organised by the Company Operating Base Commander of Assam Rifles. The much anticipated lecture attracted a total of 75 village locals, including 45 students.

The lecture illuminated various career possibilities for unemployed graduates and residents of remote border villages, emphasizing employment opportunities within the Indian Army and Assam Rifles across all ranks. It fostered awareness and provided insights into potential career paths, promoting community development and empowerment.

The event concluded with the distribution of stationary items and refreshments, further enhancing the engagement and support extended to the local youth and village residents. Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing talent and fostering socio-economic development in the region.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED A FRIENDLY FOOTBALL MATCH AT LILONG

Assam Rifles organised a friendly football match at Lilong on 04 March 2024 in Thoubal District of Manipur to empower youth and boost the bonhomie between locals and Security Forces through Sportsmanship. The match was played between Assam Rifles & Tajweedul Quran, Lilong Khunou,Thoubal district,Manipur.

The event witnessed tremendous enthusiasm and cheering for both the teams finally culminating into a goalless draw 0-0.

ASSAM RIFLES PROVIDES SOLAR STREET LIGHTS AT KLYANG, GANGPIJANG VILLAGE, MOREH, MEIPOU AND AIMOL TAMPAK VILLAGES, TENGNOUPAL DIST UNDER AR CAP

Solar lights are essential in remote villages for providing sustainable and reliable lighting, especially in areas with limited access to electricity grid infrastructure. They contribute to enhancing safety, security, and overall quality of life for residents.

The need for solar lights in various villages in Tengnoupal District, Manipur was addressed under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme as a total of 26 Solar lights were distributed and installed in Gangpijang Village, Moreh, Meipou, and Aimol Tampak villages,Kulyang village in Tengnoupal District Manipur on 04 Mar 2024 .

Following the distribution, Assam Rifles engaged in interactive sessions with the locals, discussing various developmental initiatives and events. These engagements underscore Assam Rifles’ commitment to community empowerment and welfare in remote regions of Manipur.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS WREATH LAYING CEREMONY OF BRAVEHEART

On 03 March 1966, MNF insurgents launched a targeted attack on the Battalion Headquarters and outposts of 1 Assam Rifles engaged in Internal Security operations. The relentless assault by insurgents deprived the battalion of external troop support. In the midst of the ceaseless gunfire, Lance Naik Bil Bahadur Gurung and Rifleman Sapchhawna Lushai displayed remarkable courage, bravely holding their ground against the insurgents to protect the garrison. They ultimately made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for the nation displaying valour and courage on 04 March 1966.

Assam Rifles under the aegis HQ IGAR(S) organized a wreath laying ceremony in honour of L/Nk Bil Bahadur Gurung and Rfn Sapchhawna Lushai who made the ultimate sacrifice displaying unwavering courage and dedication to duty despite facing overwhelming odds in intense Counter Insurgency Operation in Mizoram on 04 March 1966.

The ceremony commenced with the wreath laying by Commandant of the Unit and a motivational speech to all ranks narrating the story of the bravehearts to infuse a sense of pride and honour in the force.

Four Officers, 14 Junior Commissioned Officers and 105 Other Ranks of the Battalion paid tribute by laying wreaths & honoring the brave hearts with Guard of Honour.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS MEDICAL CAMP IN TENGNOUPAL & A LECTURE ON ‘DRUG AWARENESS AND ABUSE AMONGST YOUTH’ IN POI VILLAGE, UKHRUL

In today’s environment, teenagers are increasingly susceptible to the dangers of drug dependency, highlighting the urgent need to raise awareness about the immediate and long-term consequences of addiction. Recognizing this imperative, a lecture on ‘Drug Awareness and Abuse among Youth’ in Poi village, Ukhrul District, Manipur was organised on 05 March 2024.

The village authorities appreciated the Assam Rifles’ initiative for undertaking the in depth session for the village youth, they proposed to undertake and welcome similar strides to enlighten the youth and people of all ages in Ukhrul District.

Similarly, a Medical camp was organised for locals of Molphei village, Tengnoupal district on 05 Mar 2024. A total of 40 villagers including women and children were examined during the medical camp.Special focus was given on educating the villagers about Communicable diseases and ways to prevent them.

ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISED PULSE POLIO VACCINATION CAMP IN MANIPUR

In a dedicated effort to safeguard the health of our youngest citizens, a Pulse Polio Vaccination Camp was organized on 04 March 2024, as part of the three-day National Pulse Polio Vaccination drive from 03 March to 05 March 2024, at Keithalmanbi Garrison in Imphal West district, Manipur. This initiative aims to ensure widespread immunization against polio, a preventable but potentially debilitating disease. During the vaccination drive, a total of 81 kids from the Garrison and nearby villages, aged up to 5 years, were vaccinated against polio.

Assam Rifles’ endeavour exemplifies their commitment to serving not only the nation’s security but also its health and well-being even during challenging times.
