On 05 March 2024, Assam Rifles provided essential Boxing equipment to Miss Tingmila Doungel, hailing from Saikul, Kangpokpi district, Manipur. She has participated in 17 International, National and State level events in which she won 05 Gold medals, 04 Silver medals and 01 Bronze medal, establishing herself as a formidable Pugilist with a promising future.
This assistance was provided to encourage Miss Doungel to continue her training with full gusto, despite the scarcity of resources due to the ongoing disturbance in Manipur.
The gesture of Assam Rifles to encourage a young, budding talent, while maintaining peace in the area, was widely appreciated by the local populace.
